Can you tell me about your lessons?

We offer Gymnastics & Trampoline lessons for ages 6 months to 16 years old.
All classes work on our award scheme.

Our recreational classes work towards our award winning curriculum in which the members achieve badges, medals & certificates.

Our competitive classes work towards internal & external competitions.

Do you offer classes for children with special needs?

Yes, we do

What age can children start from?

Our early years programme is suitable for ages 6 months+

Children can attend our early years parent and toddler programme until they are 6 years old, in these classes parents and guardians will be inside the gymnasium with their child.

Our evening and weekend classes are for age 2+

Classes Run 7 days per week after school and on weekends for 3-5, 5-8 and 9+ year old beginners and 

More advanced participants.

We have all abilities from total beginners up to advanced competitive gymnasts.

Can I come into the lessons with my child?

For parent and toddler classes & Family stay and play parents will be next to the children whilst they are on the apparatus

For after school and weekend classes children will participate independently, parents will be able to sit and watch in the cafe and viewing area.

Please note the cafe in the Leeds venue closes at 8pm weekdays and at 4.15 on weekends

What ages do you offer lessons for?

We offer lessons for children aged 6 months-16 years at our Huddersfield and Leeds locations. We also offer classes for adults at our Leeds venue.

Do you do beginners lessons?

We offer lessons for beginners classes as well as more advanced classes for children aged 6 months-16 years

What Level would my child be in Gymnastics?

If your child can do a forwards roll, backwards roll and cartwheel it would be a stage 2 (Intermediate or Mini Squad class)

If they cannot yet do those skills, don't worry we have beginners classes that are suitable for them.

What Level would my child be in Trampolining?

If your child can do somersaults / flips then an intermediate or squad class would be the best fit, if they cannot do those skills yet, dont worry we have beginners classes that would be suitable for them.

How long are the classes?

Parent and toddler classes are 45 minutes in duration

Beginners classes are 55 minutes in duration including the handover and feedback period with parents at the end

Mini Squad classes are 1 hours 30 minutes in duration 

Intermediate classes are 1 hour 55 minutes in duration including the handover and feedback period with parents at the end

Squad classes are 3 hours in duration

Do you offer competitive Trampoline & gymnastics classes?

Yes we have a Mini Squad for ages 3-7 Years old and a regional gymnastics squad for ages 8+

Mini Squad classes are 1.5 hours per week and cost £67.99 per month 

On top of your first payment you will pay a £19.99 annual insurance charge. 

Regional and national squads cost £99.99 per month for one lesson per week or £134.99 per month for two lessons per week 

How much do classes cost?

Pay as you go 

Beginners classes cost £9.99 per lesson however this option doesn't secure your space on a weekly basis and first choice of all classes are given to our monthly and termly paying members. 

We offer no sibling discounts on this membership type.


For all pay as you go classes you will have to pay the annual insurance charge after your second lesson.

One beginners class per week is £39.99 per month or £35.99 per child for 2 or more siblings.

Two beginners classes per week costs £59.99 per month or £53.99 per child for 2 or more siblings.

One Mini Squad or intermediate class costs £67.99 per month or £61.19 per child for 2 or more siblings.

 

Two mini Squad or intermediate classes cost £107.99 per month or £97.19 per child for 2 or more siblings.

One advance class or squad class is £99.99 per month or £89.99 per child for 2 or more siblings.

Two advanced class or squad classes cost £134.99 per month or £121.49 per child for 2 or more siblings. 

For all pay monthly classes you will pay £19.99 annual insurance charge on sign up. 

Pay Termly 

One beginners class per week is £120 per term of £99 per child for 2 or more siblings.

Two beginners classes per week costs £180 per term or £159 per child for 2 or more siblings.

One Mini Squad or intermediate class costs £220  per term or £199 per child for 2 or more siblings.

Two mini Squad or intermediate classes cost £299 per term or £249 per child for 2 or more siblings.

There are no additional fees for those who wish to pay termly.

Parent and toddler classes are Free for under 6 months old and £6.99 for all other children

Is there a notice period on the membership?

Pay as you go

With pay as you go you pay for a single lesson therefore after the single class is finished your membership will immediately end.

Pay monthly Contracts

We operate one full month notice period after you cancel in writing, you will be automatically billed for one more monthly payment and then nothing else will be charged. 

Please note cancelling your direct debit without emailing written cancellation will not be accepted as notification you wish to cancel your classes.

Verbal cancellation to the front of house staff, to caching staff member or during this phone call will not be accepted.

Pay Termly

How long do a term of lessons last?

Our terms are 12 weeks from the day you book your classes.

If I book now when will my classes start?

Your classes will commence immediately and you will be able to view your upcoming lessons by visiting our app “The Gymnastics Academy” and scrolling down to “Coming up” on the dashboard page of the app.

How do I download the mobile phone app?

Please visit the app store or the google play store and search for “The Gymnastics Academy”

My child is cannot attend for a while, what should I do?

For seamless management of your child's attendance, we encourage you to utilize our user-friendly mobile app, "The Gymnastics Academy." Follow these simple steps to report future absences:

  • Open the app and navigate to the "Account" section.
  • Click on your child's name to access their profile.
  • Choose the "Future Absence" option.

The next steps are as follows:

  • The screen will prompt you to select how you want to create a future absence. Opt for "By date."
  • Indicate whether the absence will span multiple days by selecting "Yes" or "No."
  • If applicable, choose the specific date or date range for the absence.
  • Please take a moment to leave a comment explaining the reason for your child's absence.
I cant access the mobile phone app, can you help?

Please delete the app and visit the app store or the google play store and search for “The Gymnastics Academy”

How Do I change my Direct Debit details?

Please email hello@thegymnasticsacademy.co.uk and request to change your direct debit details, you will be provided with a link to update your banking information

I've noticed £49.99 coming out of my bank in September, what is this?

This is the annual insurance fee payable by every Pay as you go & Pay monthly member.

Can I pause my membership?

Every pay monthly member is entitled to pause their membership for 4 weeks per calendar year. 

Whilst your membership is paused you will be charged 33% of your normal monthly fee to retain your place in your lessons. 


A period of pause cannot be enacted after we receive notification of membership cancellation.

If you pause your membership then decide to cancel the cancellation process will commence the day after the pause finishes. 

You may pause your membership by emailing hello@thegymnasticsacademy.co.uk, providing details of the dates and circumstances of the pause.

What is a make up token?

A make up token is received whenever you notify us via the app that you are going to miss a class.

The token allows you to book a replacement class for the one you missed.

How do I find and use my make up tokens?

Follow these straightforward instructions to schedule additional lessons through our mobile app, "The Gymnastics Academy":

Step 1:

Download our app from your mobile app store. Login using the email address we use for communication. In case you forget your password, simply click on "Forgot Password."

Step 2:

Open "The Gymnastics Academy" app on your mobile device.

Step 3:

Navigate to the "Account" section and click on your child's name. Once there, select "Makeups."

Step 4:

Click on "Request" to initiate the makeup lesson process.

Step 5:

Choose the date for the additional lesson. The available dates will be prominently displayed at the top of the calendar.

Step 6:

From the drop-down menu, select the class you'd like your child to attend.

By following these steps, you can effortlessly schedule extra lessons for your child, providing them with more opportunities to thrive in gymnastics. Thank you for your continued support!

What happens if we are going to miss a class? Will I still be charged?

Ensuring you have the flexibility you need, we've streamlined our absence and makeup class process. Here's a breakdown based on your payment method:

Pay As You Go:

Regrettably, Pay As You Go participants won't receive a replacement class for any missed sessions.

Monthly or Termly Payments:

For those on monthly or termly plans, notifying us of an absence through our mobile app, "The Gymnastics Academy," grants you a valuable "make-up token." This token enables attendance in a similar class on an alternate date, subject to availability.

To report an absence and receive a make-up token:

  • Open our app and go to "Account."
  • Click on your child's name, then select "Future Absence."
  • Choose "By date," then specify if the absence spans multiple days.
  • Select the date or date range and leave a comment explaining the absence.

After the class register is taken, your account will display the earned "make-up token."

To redeem your token and book a make-up class:

  • Visit "The Gymnastics Academy" app.
  • Navigate to "Account," then your child's name, and click on "Makeups."
  • Hit "Request" to book your make-up class.
  • Select the class you wish to book

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping the gymnastics journey smooth and accommodating for your child.

Can I use make up tokens to pay for holiday camps?

No, Unfortunately not. Make up tokens can only be used against like-for-like classes

What ages are holiday camps suitable for?

Holiday camps are suitable for children age 3+ that are fully toilet trained.

How much do holiday camps cost?
  • Early Bird Advantage (6 weeks in advance):
  • Camps are charged at a special rate of £15 per day.
  • Mid-term Booking (5 weeks 6 days to 2 weeks in advance):
  • Secure your child's spot within this timeframe, and camps are priced at £20 per day.
  • Last-Minute Booking (Less than 2 weeks before):
  • For those spontaneous plans, camps are available at £25 per day.
What is breakfast club for holiday camps?

Breakfast club takes the stress out of the morning rush. Drop your kids at 8am and we'll provide breakfast. Just £7.50 per day.

What hot lunch do you offer at Holiday camps?

No need to stress about a packed lunch, let us provide your children with delicious hot lunches for just £5 per day.

Daily options include  

pizza & chips with fruit and a yoghurt or;

Hot dog & chips with fruit and a yoghurt 

Can we have a free trial?

Yes, we offer free trials in all of our classes

What is late collection at Holiday camps?

Need to work later? No problem! Collect the children at 5pm for £10 extra per day.

Can I use make up tokens to pay for my child’s notice period when they cancel

No, make up tokens have no value, they can only be redeemed against like for like classes.

Are you OFSTED registered?

No, As a sports club we are not required to register with OFSTED

How many people is the family stay and play for?

2 adults and up to 3 children

Yes all of our venues have a parents viewing area.

If my child moves up what happens about payments?

If your on a pay monthly contract an immediate payment of the difference between your current subscription and your new, more expensive subscription will be debited from your account, this payment will be pro rata discounted for the time remaining until your next billing date.

Your billing date will remain the same, and on your next billing date you will be charged the full amount for the new class.

If you pay termly an immediate payment of the difference between your current subscription and your new, more expensive subscription will be debited from your account, this payment will be pro rata discounted for the time remaining until the end of your term. Your next term will be charged at the new rate.

Do you offer 1 to 1 tuition?

We do offer classes for just one person, they cost £40 per hour and can be booked by clicking here 

 

How do I view the lessons my children are enrolled into?

How do I view my child's progress?

To enhance your engagement with your child's progress, kindly follow these steps to access your account on our app:

  • Once logged in, navigate to the "Account" tab located at the bottom center of the app.
  • Select your child's name to reveal a list of options. Click on "Evaluations."

By doing so, you'll have a comprehensive view of all evaluations for your child. Additionally, we recommend acquiring a personal evaluation book, available at reception for £4.99. This book provides insight into the skills your child is actively working on.

For a more detailed tracking experience, we suggest purchasing a training diary for £13.99, also available at reception. Our coaches will provide personalised feedback after each session, making the training diary an invaluable tool for monitoring your child's achievements.

  • Voila! Your child's unique QR code will be displayed.
Do we have to attend the same classes each week?

For those on monthly or termly payment plans, you've secured a consistent spot in the same class each week. In the event you can't attend for any reason, our flexible system allows you to:

  • Utilize our makeup token system to attend a different class for that week.
  • If you're considering a permanent change, easily transfer to another class using our user-friendly app.

I want to change my child’s lessons, How do I do this?

To facilitate class transfers for your child, follow these straightforward steps on our app:

How Many family members are permitted to attend a parent and toddler class?

In our parent and toddler classes we permit two adults if you have one child or a maximum of 3 adults for 2+ children.

What do you do within your beginners classes?

Children will work on badges 1-3 in our beginners classes

What should my child wear?

Short and a T-shirt or leggings and a top will be fine. Please ensure all piercings are taken out or taped up.

When will my child move up from beginners?

It will typically take a 5+ year old 12-16 weeks to move up from the beginners stage to the next stage of classes.

For children aged 3 and 4 it can take much longer.

Do you do gymnastics birthday parties?

Yes we do parties for groups of 5-50 children.

At our huddersfield site we do not 

At Leeds we have an adult gymnastics and trampoline drop in class, which is run by a coach and costs £10 each time you attend, this is booked on a pay as you go basis.

I have registered an absence but I will now be able to attend, what do I need to do?

Can I wait in the car to collect my child?

No, for safeguarding reasons you must come to the exit door and collect your child.

Is parking Available.

Yes, All of our sites have parking directly in front of the venue.

I have Booked a holiday camp and I and trying to add another day but I am unable to do so as it says im already enrolled.

What is a training diary and why do I need one?

Our training diary is an invaluable resource that your children should bring to every class. This diary serves multiple purposes: it enables coaches to keep parents informed about their children's progress by documenting what they are working on and providing feedback after each session. Additionally, it allows parents to easily monitor their children's development over time. The training diary also features a sticker chart and sections to store badges and competition routines.

What are the costs?

Do I need to pay an annual membership fee?

If you are paying monthly the annual membership fee is £46.66 payable each September. There is no annual membership fee for those that pay termly.

Do I need to pay any other fees for insurance?

No, Leeds Gymnastics Academy are an independent gymnastics club who privately insure through Insure4sport.There is no additional cost to our members for insurance as LGA covers the full cost of insurance.

What do I need to know about the insurance?

Leeds Gymnastics Academy are an independent gymnastics club who are insured through Insure4sport which is underwritten by Aviva.

In the event of personal injury, you are covered up to a maximum claim value of £5,000,000 per accident

Is there a notice period if I want to cancel my child’s classes?

There is a notice period of 45 days from your next billing date for all members paying on the monthly plan.
There is no notice period for those paying termly.

How Do I Cancel my child’s lessons?

Simply login to your parent’s portal and request to drop enrolment. Please note the notice period is 45 days from your next billing date for all pay monthly members.

What is the termly calendar and why do I need it?

Our termly calendar will show you all the exciting things happening at the club this term.

Each member will get one of these free of charge, please pick yours up from reception on your next visit!

What happens when we arrive?

Parents will drop children off in the reception of the gymnasium
Children will be signed in by scanning the QR code from your app so parents or older members should bring a phone/device which has the app on so they can generate their entry QR code Parent are welcome to leave the site or you may wish to wait in your vehicle or utilise the café that operates upstairs.

What do we work on in recreational lessons?

In beginners Gymnastics & Tumbling lessons we work on Floor & Vault Badges 1-4 and work towards the club competitions

In beginners trampoline lessons we work on trampoline badges 1-4 and work towards the club competitions

In intermediate gymnastics classes we work on Floor, vault, bars & beam badges 5-7 and work towards the club competitions

In intermediate tumbling lessons we work on tumble badges 5-7 and work towards the club competitions

In intermediate trampoline classes we work on trampoline 5-10 and work towards the club competitions
In advanced gymnastics classes we work on badges 8-10 and work towards the club competitions

Once your child passes badge 4 they must move out of the beginners class and into an intermediate class to further progress, this usually takes around 12-16 weeks (3-4 months) to complete the beginners syllabus.
Each time your child passes a level you will be invited to buy the badge, certificate & medal set via our app for £10, this will be posted directly to your house.

When are the club competitions and can my child enter?

May 12th and 13th  

July 1st and 2nd 

September 9th and 10th

October 21st and 22nd

December 9th and 10th

All members in Beginners, Intermediate and advanced classes will work on routines in the “competition prep” classes, as set out on their termly calendar.

members will be encouraged to attend the competitions.If you wish to enter the club competitions, please book via the parents portal or on the mobile phone app, The closing date is 1 week prior to the competition date.

How do we know how our child is doing?

We understand how important it is for parents to stay informed about their child's progress in their activities. That's why we are excited to introduce the Leeds Gymnastics Academy training diary, our latest tool for tracking and enhancing your child's performance.

Our training diary is user-friendly and comprehensive, allowing parents to easily monitor their child's progress, set goals, and track their achievements. With our feedback system, our experienced coaches provide detailed feedback and praise after each training session to help your child improve and excel in Gymnastics, Trampolining & Tumbling.

How long until my child will move up to a higher level class?

It typically takes 12-16 weeks (3-4 months) to move from a beginner into an intermediate class. It typically takes 12-24 months (1-2 years) to move from an intermediate class to an advanced class or competition squad.

Can parents stay and watch training sessions?

Parents/Guardians are more than welcome to stay and watch their child/children however they are not permitted in the gym during the session due to safeguarding reasons and limited space. If you would like to stay, there is a viewing area upstairs in West Vale Deli café where you can watch your child on a television screen or through the windows.
Please note this is a separate business and it reserves the right to operate outside the hours of gymnasium opening and may not be open when your child’s lessons occur.

If I cannot make a session can it be replaced at a different time?

Yes you can, every time you miss a class you’ll be issued with a token, which can be used to redeem a like-for- like lessons. You can book these on the app by clicking
Account > make ups > Request > select the lesson you want to book.
You can notify us of absences at least 24 hours prior to the missed class & book catch up classes through your parents portal or on our app by clicking
Account > Record Future absence

What should my child wear to class?

Gymnasts should wear clothing which is appropriate to the discipline that they are taking part in. Shorts, T- shirts, Leotards, Longs all of which are available to purchase in Reception. Jewellery cannot be worn during any session as it is a Health and Safety risk which could result in a gymnast being injured. For children with pierced ears, earrings must be taped up.

Do you offer holiday programmes / school holiday childcare?

Where is lost property kept?

We have a lost property basket in Reception whereby anything left in the gym after the sessions have finished on any given day will be relocated to.

Does my child need a leotard/ Uniform?

Leotards and specific uniforms are not a requirement for those in our beginners, intermediate, advanced but they are required for all gymnasts participating in external competitions.

How do I change my child’s lessons?

You May change your lesson to any other class of equal cost for example change the time or date of the class or move up into another age group. Any change to another class must be requested via the parent’s portal or on the app by clicking
Account > Enrolments > Transfer enrolment > select the class you wish to transfer to.

How can I add another class for my child?

Simply login to our mobile phone app and click find a class > select the class you wish to add, the cost will be added to your current direct debit in line with our payments schedule set out in the terms and conditions below.
